SteadyState Light Source:
A broadband light source is provided by a 75-watt continuous Xenon Short Arc lamp. Coupled to PTI's exclusive thermally matched
front-surface ellipsoidal reflector, our illumination source provides maximum efficiency through all wavelength regions. Since it
collects and focuses light more efficiently, our light source produces up to 10 times more power than a more conventional condenser
configuration. The lamp is built into a compact lamp housing with an integrated igniter. Since it does not produce ozone, no cooling or
ozone venting is required.

Phosphorescence Light Source: (lifetimes greater than 500 nanoseconds)
Gated measurements for lifetimes greater than 500 nanoseconds require our high rep rate pulsed xenon source coupled to our
thermally matched front-surface ellipsoidal reflector for maximum efficiency. The rep rate is continuously variable up to 300 Hz. The
pulsed light source utilizes the same integrated housing as the continuous source. Since the pulsed source is off much of the time, it
virtually never needs to be replaced.
