Photon Technology International Inc. (PTI) was granted patents for its unique DeltaScan ratio spectrofluorometer. The DeltaScan can detect the concentration or changes in concentration of calcium ions either in solution or in single cells on a microscope. It calculates measurements on a millisecond time scale, making the DeltaScan is not only the most sensitive but also the fastest spectrofluorometer currently available.
