QuantaMaster™ 30 Buyers Guide
Each of PTI's diverse and versatile fluorometer systems is designed with particular user needs in mind. The QuantaMaster™ 30 is a bench-top fluorometer that utilizes a pulsed excitation source. Primarily, the QuantaMaster™ 30 is designed for the user who needs the capability to measure both phosphorescence decays as well as to make steady state fluorescence and phosphorescence measurements. The QuantaMaster™ 30 is the most sensitive fluorescence system using a pulsed light source however if you ONLY require intensity based measurements PTI's QuantaMaster™ 40 is recommended.
You would choose the QuantaMaster™ 30 if your needs were:
 |
To Measure Phosphorescence Decays
One can measure phosphorescence decays as short as 400 nanoseconds to as long as seconds. Correction is particularly important when using a pulsed source – the proprietary PMT based True-Correction™ excitation wavelength and intensity correction ensures that you always get the most accurate answer. |
 |
For Great Sensitivity
PTI offers the most sensitive fluorimeter system that uses a pulsed light source for excitation. Nevertheless it is not as sensitive as our QuantaMaster™ 40 fluorescence system, which uses a continuous light source – but as we have said before if you need to measure phosphorescence decays you don’t have a choice. Don’t despair – you can make your QuantaMaster™ 30 into the most sensitive fluorometer on the planet by simply adding the Q-5B system enhancement. This option adds the continuous excitation source to your system.

For Ultimate in Versatility – Obsolescence Proof
The open architecture design allows for the ultimate in flexibility. You can add various excitation sources – including lasers and LED’s, you can expend the system to measure fluorescence lifetimes, polarization, temperature ramping – in fact you can add virtually anything that you need for fluorescence and phosphorescence type measurements. While everything wears out - the QuantaMaster™ 30 can be upgraded and updated.

The QuantaMaster™ 30 system
equipped with a pulsed lamp and a gated
detector is invaluable in boosting the
detection sensitivity of otherwise almost
undetectable europium emission obscured
by fluorescence (trace at delay = 0) from
organic ligand. By placing the detection
gate 200 microseconds away from the
excitation pulse, a clean spectrum of
europium ion is observed (trace at delay =
200 μs ), while the impurity fluorescence is
completely suppressed. |
